Auro Shashwat

Auro joined the British Asian Trust in March 2022. He is responsible for the design, delivery, and management of all programmes within the conservation portfolio. 

Auro has significant experience in the environment sector, especially in biodiversity conservation and access to renewable energy. His core skills include project design and management, research, and communication. 

Before joining the British Asian Trust, Auro was working at Oxfam Italia to incorporate climate action into humanitarian work in the Middle East and North Africa region. He also has extensive experience working with the United Nations Development Programme and the World Resources Institute on conservation and renewable energy in India.  

Auro has an MBA, specialising in Green Energy and Sustainable Businesses, from the University of Bologna Business School, Italy, and an MSc. in Ecological Consultancy from Newcastle University, UK.
