Sougat Sarkar

Sougat brings over 15 years of experience in the development sector. He is experienced in financial planning, contract management, grant management and capacity building of implementing civil society and community-based organisations on financial management. He started his career with Financial Management Service Foundation (FMSF) where he managed 40 projects in India and Bangladesh.

Sougat has also worked as a National Financial Manager with the PACS Programme (a FCDO funded civil society programme across India) where he successfully managed offices in seven states of India and a large partner network (90 lead partners). Sougat’s core skills include financial analysis, partner management, coordination, and grant management. Working closely with various funding organisations and grassroot level partners over the years has also helped him develop leadership skills.

Sougat holds a Masters’ degree in Commerce (M.Com) with specialisation in Accounting from the University of Calcutta. He lives with his family in Kolkata (Calcutta). When not at work he enjoys playing cricket and badminton and loves to spend time travelling with friends and family.
