British Asian Trust's British Asian Voices
The British Asian Trust is excited to announce our new initiative - the British Asian Voices Community.
We are keen to get to know the South Asian diaspora in the UK better. Over the years we have built a community of leaders and philanthropists, who have engaged with the Trust and supported our work in a number of important and creative ways. Last year at the height of the pandemic in the UK we launched British Asian Heroes- a campaign to recognise the significant contributions that British Asians were making to their communities across the country. At a time where the community was disproportionately affected by COVID-19 this recognition was more important than ever.
Building on this we now want to better understand the views, needs and experiences of British Asians on a range of issues and subjects. This will help us inform our engagement with the British Asian diaspora and our advisory work with policy-makers.
We therefore invite you to be part of our very own Community. We will periodically ask you to share your thoughts. This could include taking a short survey, sharing your views via our social media or being part of smaller discussion groups (in person or online). You don't have to do everything - you can pick and choose the topics and engagements that interest you.
