The British Asian Trust collaborating with SAJIDA Foundation for mental health support for frontline healthcare workers
Mental wellness is seen as taboo in Bangladesh, and the stigma associated, as well as scarcity of trained professionals and institutions, prevents people from seeking treatment. The Covid-19 crisis has exacerbated the situation.
To respond to this, the British Asian Trust joined hands with SAJIDA to pilot a set of initiatives focused on mental health during the Covid-19 crisis. These include providing tele and video mental health counselling to clients, targeting vulnerables segments such as frontline healthcare workers, Covid-19 positive patents and their family members.
We are delighted that this project has been featured in the Dhaka Tribune!
