Varun Chandra steps down as Trustee for special advisor role in Government
Varun Chandra has stepped down from the Board of the British Asian Trust with immediate effect following his appointment as the Prime Minister’s Special Advisor on Business and Investment in the new UK Government. Before his appointment with the UK Government, Varun was the Global Managing Partner of Hakluyt, advising leaders of the world’s largest companies and investment firms on the opportunities and risks facing their businesses.
We would like to offer Varun our warmest congratulations and thank him for his commitment to the British Asian Trust. His guidance and leadership has coincided with a period of unprecedented growth for the Trust, our programmes and our impact across South Asia.
Lord Jitesh Gadhia, Chair of the British Asian Trust said, “Whilst this is wonderful news for Varun, we are obviously very sad to see him depart from our Board of Trustees. Varun’s energy and guidance have helped us grow. We wish him every success in this important role for the United Kingdom at the heart of Government.”
