Ajaz Ahmad Najar

Ajaz Ahmad Najar joined the British Asian Trust's India team in 2024 as a Programme Officer for Rajasthan State. In this role, he manages state program operations, oversees partner organizations, and leads collaborations with key government departments in Rajasthan.

Before joining the British Asian Trust, he worked with the Entrepreneurship and Development Institute, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, and served as a programme management consultant for the State Education Department, Government of Rajasthan. Most of his professional career was with Save the Children, where he spent over nine years managed various projects focused on child rights and protection in both development and emergency settings. He has extensively worked in states like Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Assam, and Rajasthan, where he has been based for the last seven years.

Over the last four years, Ajaz has successfully led programmatic collaborations with the Department of Labour and the State Child Rights Commission, Government of Rajasthan. Ajaz has gained both national and international exposure in delivering high-quality child rights programming and engaging with children, communities, civil society organizations, and government stakeholders. He is a certified child protection practitioner from Save the Children International under its Asia Pacific Professional Development Programme and was a fellow at the Austrian Centre for Peace in Vienna, Austria, under the Austrian Government Fellowship for a specialized course on child protection, monitoring, and rehabilitation.

Ajaz also holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Science and dual master’s degrees in Communication and Social Work.
